Innocent as she appeared to be, she bit her tongue about the heinous sight she had once seen as a creature so young. In her younger years, she was petrified of this monster, and she kept it locked in her treasure chest as if it would destroy everything that she had worked up for. What will her parents say? A monster? What nonsense. She should know better than to make up myths that have no relevant place amongst society.
Yet there she laid, all stiff and frantic eyes searching ever so closely for the sign of life. She needed to prove that she was not crazy. She needed to prove that the monster was not in her mind this time but in her room, where it could snatch and turn her fragile body into nothing but ash and dust. Even in her slumber was she conscious of her eerie bedroom. She listened ever so closely. She waited for the crackle of bones, the heart dropping sound of its slimy legs thumping on the hard, fridge, wooden floor. The atmosphere did not drop unless it made its presence known, and it knew that she would be waiting. Patiently waiting for that one moment where the moonlight will grace over that inhospitable face. The monster will eat her alive with her patience as it decays into panic.
The girl grasped the bed sheets close to her face that it was only millimeters away from her nose. Her ears and eyes strained to adjust to the darkness that engulfed her. The moonlight was a reflection of her sanity, so delicate and barely shining through the silk curtains. She would flinch when the curtains swayed or when the sound of the heater next to her room turned on. She would even flinch at the popping sound of her overheated television set. Her heart beat pumped blood quickly, her stomach ached from being so scared and her head throbbed from all that straining she had done.
I will not sleep. Sleep could only mean death. No, no, I will not sleep tonight.

She breathed heavily and closed her eyes tight. She couldn’t no distinguish what she wanted. Did she want to see it? Or did she want it to go away? She was caught between the both of them, but by the time she tried to make a final decision, it was already too late.
The girl gasped as the bed sunk slowly from an unknown weight. Little hairs pricked and grazed over her cheek as it slowly moved upward. It moved and the bones crackled and snapped as it moved inch by inch. She gulped. She hoped. She hoped so much for it to be a dream.
When she opened her eyes, she was greeted by the monster. Its face was indifferent and straight as if it were dead. It made no expression, just hovered close to her like an alien species observing its new surroundings. She could see the anatomy of her bones sharply bulked and torn through skin. It was as overt as a pink elegant in a small room. Its back looked like pipes and its spine looked like ripples on water as it extended to its lower body, stopping right at the line where its back ended and its buttocks smoothed into a curve. At the knees, it had legs that represented a spider’s legs. Even its arms. Its arms were gruesomely extended from its torso and even in the areas where its lungs and stomach should be. It clustered emotions that could only be horrified and disgusting in the eyes of the human race, and out of everyone in the universe, it came in that girl’s room. Tonight it was closer. Tonight it actually spoke. At first it was unintelligible. Then is grumbled, its voice cracked and strange noises that were difficult to describe escaped its voice box.
The girl wished it never spoke. The girl wished it had never come, but it did and its voice was trapped in her mind, burned into her brains cells forever.
